This is a paper submitted on January 17, 1826 and presented formally in March of that year.
In
this paper Babbage presents a novel way of recording the behaviour of
complicated machinery through the use of a table of symbols and graphs.
Given the immense complexity of the machines Babbage was trying to
design such a technique would have been very useful indeed.
Check it out, could be a useful design tool actually.
The file is Babbage-1826.pdf
